crossing bk ferry pt 2

well we finally finished reading the rest of the story crossing Brooklyn ferry in class. After reading the second part I realized that Whitman was digging a little deeper than the clouds, seagulls, and ocean. He was trying to make us realize the connection we all have to each other in the world, as well as the connection we have to the world. Walt also takes pride in his work and is very confident in what he believes.
In stanza 8 he says, " what I promised without mentioning it, have you not accepted? What the study could not teach - what the preaching could not accomplish is accomplished, is it not? To me it's like he is addressing the reader as if he knows the reader agrees with him in almost a how could you not way. I hope you understood that thought. I hope I explained it clear enough.
